Abstract
To evaluate the difference of circulatory response of fiberoptic intubation from conventional intubation, we checked systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, heart rate and the time taken for endotracheal intubation. General anesthesia was performed to achieve successful endotracheal intubation. The time taken for endotracheal intubation was significantly longer in the fiberoptic intubation group. Maximum changes in blood pressure and heart rate were developed at first minute after intubation, and there were no significant difference between both groups. Author concluded that fiberoptic intubation undjer general anesthesia could not attenuate the circulatory response to endotracheal intubation.
Key Words: Fiberoptic intubation
