Abstract
This report is concerned with our clinical experience of 300 cases of anesthesia for open heart surgery at the Dong San Medical Center during the period between November, 1980 and July, 1984. Among the 300 cases, 165 were mael, 135 were femal, and among the total, there were 171 with congenital heart disease and 119 with acquired heart disease. The average ages was 12.5 years in the CHD group and 32.5 year in the AHD group. Morphine and demerol were used as premedilcants in most cases in conjunction with vistaril, lorazepam, glycopyrrolate and atropine, 2% thiopental 2~5 mg/kg in dosage and morphine 1~2 mg/kg in dosage were used as induction agents. We have also used halothane, enflurane and morphine as anesthetic agents in conjunction with N2O, lorazepam and ketamine. Succinylcholine and pancronium have been used for intubation and maintenance of muscle relaxation. Various cannulations ofr open heart surgery were introduced here.
